Issues and innovations (Fall semester)
main objectives
Analyze and discuss projection scenarios for agriculture in 2050 and analyze the consequences on varietal creation. Participate in societal debates on seeds. Identify innovations in seed production, in agroecological cultivation of mother-plant of seeds, in seed technology and in new breeding tools.
general content
Participatory selection - Seed technological innovations. Analysis and comparison of published texts on agricultural development scenarios and discussions with a seed professional. Participation in a debate: Construction of an argument, used in a role play - Analysis of the postures of the different actors. Studies of scientific articles on the interactions between the cultivated plant and other organisms in different production environments. Design of an innovative device, promoting one or more interactions favorable to the seed mother-plant.
