Research at ESA is based on the triangle “research-training-innovation”
the valorisation of regional produce.
This positioning is also reflected by the presence of business chairs in “Changes in Agriculture”and “Ecologically Intensive farming”.
ESA encourages multidisciplinary research carried out with partners and that relates to the teaching programmes within five specialised units:
- UMR BAGAP – Biodiversity, Agroecology and Landscape Management Research Unit
- USC GRAPPE – Agro-Industry on Products and Processes
- LARESS – Social Sciences Research Unit
- USC LEVA – Legumes, Crop Ecophysiology, Agroecology
- USC URSE – Livestock Systems Research Unit
Each research unit supports the development of the innovation by socio-economic actors, through study contracts, service and consultancy. Teams of lecturer-researchers, doctoral students, engineers and technicians bring real answers thanks to their systemic and cross-cutting analytical skills and their active participation in scientific and professional networks and competitiveness clusters, such as VEGEPOLYS and VALORIAL.
Member of the University of Brittany Loire, ESA is strengthening its national and regional scientific partnerships, notably with INRAE, through a framework agreement and units with contracts but also with other universities, schools and research institutes in France and in Europe.
Research helps to maintain and develop the scientific potential of the school and so supports and strengthens the quality of education.
