Caroline Mazaud is an associate professor in sociology at LARESS, ESA. Her research work has contributed to characterizing self-employed “small-medium” craftsmen, through the place they occupy in the productive system, social stratification and the municipalities where they live and work. Its fields of investigation are now broadening to the self-employed, and in particular to farmers, at the crossroads of a sociology of professions, work and social classes.
