Bertille Thareau is an agricultural engineer with a thesis in sociology. She is Associate professor at Ecole Supérieure des Agricultures (Angers, France)., head of the social science research unit and holder of an academic Chair on agricultural change. Farmers jobs, entry and exit trajectories are rapidly changing, in a context where the renewal of the workforce in agriculture has become a major issue. One of the fields of research addressed by Bertille Thareau is to understand these transformations. Digital technology is a new factor that modifies both the practice of farming and the autonomy of farmers, and can interfere with both the well-being at work and the attractiveness of the profession.
