Scale 1: Machine oriented in a process line

main objectives

The objective of this course is to acquire an overview and the tools to understand how sensors within acquisition chains work. Another goal is to understand aspects of calibration/metrology, how automation works and the concepts of heterogeneous sources of data, their storage and interoperability

general content

UE1-1: An overview of the typologies, functionalities and limits of sensors used in food processing. Understand the issues related to acquisition chains (data sampling, response time).,UE1-2: Become aware of the problems linked to measurement and the problem of error. Understand the simple and complex mechanisms of sensor calibration.,UE1-3: Introduction Automation of a unitary operation / understanding data flows to operate the automate. The course is divided into two parts, one of which is a short course on the automation of an operation unit and the other on the automation of an operation unit.,UE 1-4: introduction to the world of databases and data information,

pedagogy

The UE is divided into 4x sub-Unit which a technical approach and digital aspects at machine operation level. Each sub-EU has lessons (CM), practical work and laboratory work (TP) and strives to be as interactive as possible with the students. Between lessons, small individual projects are also required to apply aquired knowledge.

evaluation

For this UE, evaluations are individual and will be organised orally. Students will do a short presentation of the subject and have a short time to prepare the oral, thereafter, the different teachers will ask questions concerning their topics and the quality of the answers will be evaluated. There will be 3 oral exams corresponding to the 4 ECTS (UE 1-1 & UE 1-2), 2 ECTS for UE 1-3 et 3 ECTS for UE 1-4
