Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production and Livestock Management

The Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Animal and Livestock Management  allows you to acquire:

• Technical skills (nutrition, reproduction, animal health, farm management) to structure and support advisory work and audits in animal production.
•  Three areas of specialization available:
  • Dairy production
  • Beef production
  • Monogastric production (pigs and poultry)
• Transversal professional skills: project management, survey methods, meeting facilitation, industry analysis, literature monitoring, public speaking, advanced professional English, social media communication, and more.

Varied teaching methods:

• Lectures, group work, field case studies, and professional interventions
• A supervised project to carry out farm diagnostics with industry professionals
• Company and farm visits, practical work: butchery, weighing, dissections, etc.

• Mastering professional communication skills – 53 hours: analysing documentation and structuring a case study, general and professional English, communication, professional written and oral expression.
• Using reference tools in the workplace – 105 hours: methods of analysing and processing data in livestock farming, project management and teamwork, IT and digital technology.
• Understanding how a business operates – 79 hours: business policies and operational functions, roles and skills, methods for studying the local environment, methods for studying the sector, analysis, regulations and quality.
• Conducting farm assessments and supporting change in livestock farming – 131 hours: information gathering and management, farm audits, agricultural consultancy, commercial activities.
• Mastering livestock farming and production techniques – 157 hours : Depending on the chosen specialisation:
  • Dairy cattle production: scientific and technical fundamentals of animal production, zootechnical assessment of production, farm optimisation, advanced technical study.
  • Beef cattle production: scientific and technical fundamentals of animal production, zootechnical assessment of production, farm optimisation, advanced technical studies, technical analysis of forage systems, technical analysis of feeding and reproduction.
  • Monogastric livestock production (pigs/poultry): scientific and technical fundamentals of animal production, zootechnical assessment of production, farm optimisation, advanced technical training, technical studies on feeding and reproduction.
• Supervised project – 105 hours

Internship

Internships last between 12 and 16 weeks in France or abroad. The type and location of the internship are chosen by the student in consultation with their academic tutor.

• Developing your career plan: preparation for job hunting, creating suitable tools and mock interviews.
• Final dissertation: methodology for analysis and problem-solving.

Student programme for the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production and Livestock Management

Hold :

• A DUT, BUT, BTS, BTSA or second-year university degree (L2) relevant to the course: plant sciences, horticulture, life and earth sciences
• Any other recognised qualification equivalent to a two-year post-secondary qualification in the relevant professional field
• A qualification certifying the award of 120 ECTS credits in the relevant professional field

Work-study programme for the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production and Livestock Management

• Vocational training contract: you must be aged between 16 and 25, or be a jobseeker aged 26
• Apprenticeship contract: you must be aged between 16 and 30

Hold :

• A DUT, BTS or second-year university degree relevant to the course: plant sciences, horticulture, life sciences and earth sciences
• Any other recognised qualification equivalent to a two-year post-secondary qualification in the relevant professional field
• A qualification certifying the award of 120 ECTS credits in the relevant professional field.
