Overview

OBJECTIVES

Specialize and acquire technical skills in landscape analysis and design, with an option in infographics or site management.
Strengthen reasoning, adaptability, and professional skills to take on responsible roles.

The Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Planning builds on the technical foundation gained at the Bac+2 level (knowledge of plants, materials, construction techniques…) to prepare you to lead or contribute to landscape design projects.

1. Technical Skills : Analyze sites and design landscapes to meet client expectations.

Two specialization options:

Infographics: present your projects convincingly by developing your skills in CAD (AutoCAD), image editing (Photoshop) and project presentation (SketchUp, InDesign, Geographic Information Systems).
Site management and environmentally responsible management of spaces: To be able to manage and oversee the technical, personnel and environmental aspects of construction sites and landscaped areas.

2. Cross-Professional Skills : Manage large-scale projects by developing reasoning, adaptability, and transversal skills such as communication and project management.

You will have access to a variety of teaching methods, combining hands-on practice, expert guidance, and digital learning tools:

Professional guest speakers: landscape architects, graphic designers, site managers.
Projects based on real-world experience to adopt best practices and a commitment to quality when dealing with demanding clients: site analysis, designs for public spaces or private gardens.
Computer graphics tutorials and other multimedia resources available on a digital platform for distance learning students

Infographics (130h): General graphic tools and landscape-specific tools (AutoCAD, Photoshop, Civil 3D); methods and techniques for creating, developing, presenting, and visually communicating a project.

Site management and eco-responsible landscape management (130h): Landscaping and planning techniques; project supervision, monitoring, and management; economic management and cost evaluation; eco-friendly management of landscaped areas.

A supervised project places students in a professional-like situation. It is a group study conducted based on a real request from a company. The team functions as a mini design office, guided by a landscape teacher-tutor, and is evaluated both orally and in writing in the presence of the client.

Some examples of tutored projects: designing a concept garden, designing a landscaped park, developing a management support tool, creating a landscape discovery trail accessible from various transport routes.

For the full-time programme:Professional immersion through a 12-week internship in a company or organization. The choice of company is carefully considered in line with the student’s career plans.

Examples of placement locations include: design offices, organisations involved in landscape analysis and management, companies, local authorities, theme parks, etc

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture is awarded by the University of Angers.

Requirements for obtaining the degree or qualification:

To obtain the Professional Bachelor’s degree, students must achieve an overall average of 10 or above.
Successful completion of the year results in the award of 60 ECTS credits.
No minimum grade is required.

Bank Loans

A student loan of up to €15,000 is guaranteed by the French government, with no income requirements.
A youth loan is available under the same financial conditions as the student loan, but repayment of the principal starts immediately (not after graduation).
