TEACHING METHODS
What teaching approach is used?
- Active learning, sharing of experiences, group work, simulations (management and negotiation), and site visits.
- A supervised project for a company, or how to find practical solutions to current marketing challenges: developing a new business line, segmenting the product range,improving the efficiency of sales teams, and digitising business practices.
- A teaching approach supported by work-study placements aligned with the seasonal nature of businesses and with increasingly longer placements to foster responsibility. Over the year: a minimum of 12 weeks in companies for students and 29 weeks for apprentices.

- Innovating – 80 hours: business strategy, economic monitoring, market research, sector and market analysis, creativity and innovation.
- Developing your client portfolio – 140 hours: purchasing, negotiation techniques, web marketing, sales promotion and facilitation, department audits, forecasting, economic performance indicators.
- Collaborating effectively – 60 hours: management techniques specific to sales teams, work organisation.
- Supervised project – 140 hours: the supervised project is a study conducted on a problem posed by a company.
- 12- to 16-week work placement: The type and location of the placement are chosen by the student in consultation with their academic tutor. It takes place over several periods in one or two French or European companies. It culminates in a written placement report and an oral defence.

IMPORTANT: International students arriving in France for the first time are not eligible to enroll in the work-study programme.

Work-study programme
For the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Technical Sales, the work-study contract may be an apprenticeship or a professional training contract.
- 29 weeks in the workplace, 18 weeks of classes and 5 weeks of paid leave
- A cycle of 2 to 7 weeks in the workplace – 2 to 4 weeks at the Apprentiship training centre.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The Professional Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Technical Sales is awarded by the University of Angers.
Requirements for obtaining the degree or qualification:
- To obtain the vocational bachelor’s degree, students must achieve an overall average of 10 or above.
- Successful completion of the year results in the award of 60 ECTS credits.
- No minimum grade is required.
To obtain the Vocational Bachelor’s degree in Technical Sales, students must achieve an average of 10 or above in the individual course units (UE) composing the degree

- A DUT, BUT, BTS, BTSA or second-year university degree (L2) relevant to the course: plant sciences, horticulture, life and earth sciences
- Any other recognised qualification equivalent to a two-year post-secondary qualification in the relevant professional field
- A qualification certifying the award of 120 ECTS credits in the relevant professional field
Work-study programme for the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Technical Sales
- Apprenticeship contract: you must be aged between 16 and 30
- Vocational training contract: you must be aged between 16 and 25, or be a jobseeker aged 26
Hold :
- A DUT, BTS or second-year university degree relevant to the course: plant sciences, horticulture, life sciences and earth sciences

Training is free of charge for apprentices or work-study students on a professional training contract
The annual cost is €8,150. This amount may be covered by the company’s OPCO(French skills and apprenticeship funding body)
For an apprenticeship contract, the level of this funding is specified by France Compétences.
For a professional training contract, please contact the company’s OPCO.
If the cost of the training exceeds the level of funding provided by the OPCO, the company will be required to pay the remaining balance (remaining balance = Cost of training – Level of funding provided by the OPCO) (see link above)

Bank Loans
- A student loan of up to €15,000 is guaranteed by the French government, with no income requirements.

Apprentices receive remuneration calculated as a percentage of the minimum wage (SMIC), depending on their age and the type of contract.
