Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business Management

A Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business Management is primarily designed for direct entry into the workforce. However, further studies are still possible and made easier since it is a university degree. At ESA, we offer:

IMPORTANT: International students arriving in France for the first time are not eligible to enroll in the work-study programme.

Study programme

• Building effective relationships: 32 hours
• Identifying problems (diagnosing, addressing, recommending solutions): 43 hours
• Supporting decision-making: strategy and innovation: 71 hours
• Support: accounting, management, law, taxation, finance: 111 hours
• Advising: from management commentary to recommendations: 85 hours
• Supervised project: 140 hours

 Successful applicants who do not meet all the prerequisites in agricultural management will benefit from a week of preparatory training before the start of the academic year.

Work-study programme

The work-study component can take the form of an apprenticeship or a professional training contract. Apprentices make up the vast majority of the class. The standard work-study cycle is monthly, allowing students to study at ESA and work in companies across France, whilst having time to complete their coursework. Students may start their work placement before the start of the academic year at ESA.

• 30 weeks in the workplace, 18 weeks at school and 5 weeks’ paid holiday.
• 6 work placements of 4 to 9 weeks each
• 5 periods at school of 3 to 4 weeks each

The Vocational Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business is awarded by the University of Angers.

Requirements for obtaining the degree or qualification:

• To obtain the vocational bachelor’s degree, students must achieve an overall average of 10 or above.
• Successful completion of the year results in the award of 60 ECTS credits.
• No minimum grade is required.

2- Pay the application fee and confirm your application

3- Assessment of your application: academic results, motivation and ability to adapt to a professional environment. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis.

4- ESA’s response: Three possibilities:

• Admitted on the basis of an application
• Rejected on the basis of the application
• Invited to an admissions day (response within 15 days of the interview)

Preparing for working life by:

• 30 weeks in a work placement, 18 weeks at school and 5 weeks’ paid holiday.
• 6 work placements, each lasting between 4 and 9 weeks
• 5 school terms, each lasting 3 to 4 weeks

A vocational training programme

• The MEA work-study degree programme is closely aligned with professional needs. It is practical, and by the end of the course, you will be ready to work.
• You can benefit from the partnerships between ESA and companies wishing to offer apprenticeship or work-based learning placements.
• You’ll receive strong support through a dual mentoring system: from your company mentor and your ESA tutor.

Working as a team

Students are required to complete numerous projects or case studies. These projects encourage research, critical thinking, written and oral presentation, and teamwork. They thus promote discussion, active listening, taking responsibility, the ability to present arguments, and the acquisition of professional and personal skills.

Managing projects and tasks based on real-life situations

Students work on real-life case studies from farmers, supported by a teaching team more than two-thirds of whom are practising professionals.
