Synergies between the International Relations Office and scientific staff in our institutions as a key factor in international development

To take an innovative approach to the Erasmus staff week by inviting pairs of IRO1 and scientists from our partner universities. Each member of the pair has a specific contribution to make to the international development of their institution and yet we often work in silos ! The ESA staff week will be an occasion to both raise consciousness of the importance of these IRO -scientific staff synergies to further sustainable international development and to benefit from each of our experiences.

ESA will share its highs and lows based on our experiences

  • Creation and management of 2 consortia (Vintage and Food Identity)
  • Dual degree creation with partners
  • International recruitment
  • The process for building a SIP to develop a network in the areas of Typical Products and Agrecology
  • Erasmus + Strategic Partnership management

We will learn more about these themes within our workshops and in the cultural activities and visits planned during the week.  This staff week will be of particular interest to scientists working in these fields. However, all pairs of IRO and scientists are warmly welcome!

The week takes place from October 1st to 4th, 2019.
We have chosen these dates so that those travelling from afar to the EAIE conference in Helsinki can easily join us for this event. The “Angers softness”, as we say here will be an interesting  contrast to the beautiful northern Helsinki landscape!
Participants will be welcomed from 4 PM on Monday September 30th when they can pick up their welcome package.
During the 3 days we will work for 1.5 days on our principal theme.  Half a day is reserved for the IROs to share operational issues while their scientific colleagues will meet their peers at ESA.
Thursday afternoon is dedicated to discovering two regional agricultural products from the Loire: Maine Anjou cattle and Loire wines. The day will conclude with a visit to the Chateau De Brissac where we will complete our week with a gala dinner.
On Friday participants who choose to remain in France have the option to visit one of our AgroFrance3 partners ( in Lille, Lyon or Toulouse).
